Annie Seaton

Annie Seaton has taught at Stanford, Harvard, Skidmore, and Bard. Annie is also an educational director at greatbookssummer.comAnnie is a National Merit Finalist, a Mellon Fellow, and a 99th percentile GRE scorer, but what she enjoys most is the playful, experiential art of teaching. “Starting her own school” has been a goal ever since Annie first read Summerhill, by A. S. Neill, in third grade.  At Harvard, Annie spent ten years teaching “Special Concentrators,” honors-only Harvard students who design their own majors with an advisor. Many of Annie’s former students are currently exhibited in museums; some now teach at Princeton and MIT. Games, questions, puzzles, and wonderment animate Annie’s teaching, whether K-12 or Ivy League.

Annie has exhibited art at the Whitney Museum and has recently visited Princeton, Harvard, and NYU to talk about classics and culture. Annie has a PhD from Harvard in literature.
