Creative Writing faculty member Sam Apple is the winner of the Beltran Family Award for Innovative Teaching & Mentoring for 2021-22. Al Filreis, Faculty Director of the Kelly Writers House, says, “The Beltran Family established an endowment for this annual award because they wanted to help us maintain ‘the spirit of informal and outside-of-class mentoring that the best teachers embody.’ Well, we cannot imagine a teacher who better embodies that spirit. Congratulations to Sam! We can’t wait to see what innovative program he produces at KWH next year.”
