Click here for detailed write-ups of the terrific work done by this year’s Bassini Writing Apprenticeship fellows, Jules Lingenfelter (C’26) and Enne Kim (C’26). Working with faculty sponsor Jay Kirk, Jules took a deep dive into obscure avant-garde horror films and Parisian forensic files. For Fayyaz Vellani, Enne researched the food culture and colonial history of Zanzibar.
The Bassini Writing Apprenticeships promote advanced research and mentorship experiences. Members of the faculty affiliated with Penn’s writing programs work closely with an apprentice over the course of one semester, and students chosen to be apprentices receive course credit (English 3899). Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the College of Arts and Sciences are eligible to apply. Juniors and seniors will be given strong preference.
