Poetry First Friday at the Ragged Edge

Please join award-winning poets, Maya Pindyck and Taije Silverman, on March 1st at the Ragged Edge Coffee House in Gettysburg, PA. The First Friday poetry reading begins at 7 pm with an open mic followed by the featured readers. Please bring a poem to share in the open, if you wish.

MAYA PINDYCK'S third book of poems, Impossible Belonging (Anhinga Press, 2023), won the Philip Levine Prize for Poetry and was a National Poetry Series finalist. Her honors include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship. She is co-author of A Poetry Pedagogy for Teachers (Bloomsbury, 2022). Maya lives in Philadelphia where she is an assistant professor and director of Writing at Moore College of Art & Design.

TAIJE SILVERMAN'S most recent book of poems is Now You Can Join the Others (LSU Press, 2022). She also translates from the Italian; her Selected Poems of Giovanni Pascoli (Princeton University Press) was published in 2019. Silverman's poems have been chosen twice for the Best American Poetry series, for the Pushcart Prize, and the Anne Halley Prize for best poem in The Massachusetts Review. Her work has been in journals including Poetry, Harvard Review, Ploughshares, and (happily) The Gettysburg Review. Honors include the Emory University Poetry Fellowship (selected by Natasha Trethewey), the W.K Rose Fellowship from Vassar College, a Fulbright to teach poetry and translation at the University of Bologna in Italy, and residencies at MacDowell and Yaddo.
